Dexter Morgan. - intoxicating.

This man is a sex bomb, among other things.

I have to do a post on this show. Dexter is on Showtime every Sunday at 9pm.  I have been more then obsessed with this series since about last year. It is so interesting, so inspiring and literally keeps you on edge with every episode.

I have been hearing about this show and how good it is from every human around me. All they would say though was that it was about a "guy who goes around killing everyone." This is a horrible description for the show. So, I never really gave it a chance until I started using Netflix and could watch it instantly on the laptop.

I finished watching all the seasons on Netflix and I was dying for season 5 to start this past September. Finally when it started again I was a happy camper.

So to give you an idea about this show, I got some help from wikipedia. Dexter is basically a vigilante. He works for the Miami Metro Police Dept. so that gives him easy access to criminals. Since he was a young child he discovered he had it in him to be a serial killer. His father, a police officer, noticed this when Dexter was still young and to keep his son from becoming a serial killer he taught him a "code" to follow when needing to kill. This code is basically known as "The Code of Harry". Harry being Dexter's father. The code basically says that Dexter must follow these key points:

1) He must only kill murderers.
2) He must execute his crimes as to never get caught.

Throughout the entire show you hear a narration by Dexter himself. This voice, he calls his "Dark Passenger." The dark passenger is his inner self. His father also taught him to disconnect from human emotions and keep to himself. This is to not let anyone in on his secrets. The entire series is too good to put into words. I am fascinated by crime scenes, blood, justice and Michael C. Hall. This show has it all!

I say give this show a chance and you will thank me later.

Good sites to watch these shows on:

Or just message me, I can put them on your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, external hardrive, laptop, etc for free. They are on my Time Capsule.

Sigh...

Lately, I've been under the weather.
Above the influence.
Out of control and into my job.

I have actually been completely out of cyber space since my last post.  Haven't been as much on Tumblr, Facebook, or anything else for that matter. And when I have been on those it's 'cause I did it from my phone.

So anyway enough about my MIA-ness and more about.. me. :) Well, I just wanna say that I'll get back into my groove soon. Back to photos, back to photoshop, back to blogging, back to other things that don't mentioning right now.

We are not swans - We are sharks.

Now this is going to be a little difficult, so stay with me.

How much does your life weigh? Imagine for a second you are carrying a backpack. I want you to pack it with all the stuff you have in your life and start with the little things the shelves, the drawers, the knickknacks: then start adding larger stuff, clothes, tabletop appliances, lamps, your TV – backpack should be getting pretty heavy now – and you go bigger. Your couch, your car, your home – I want you to stuff it all into that backpack.

Now let's say you burn the back pack. Kind of exhilarating isn't it? - to start all over with nothing?

Now i want you to fill it with people. Start with casual acquaintances, friends of friends, folks around the office, and then you move to the people that you trust with your most intimate secrets, your brothers and sisters, your children, parents, and finally your husband, wife, your boyfriend, your girlfriend – and get ‘em into that backpack – feel the weight of that bag. Make no mistake; your relationships are your heaviest components in your life. all those negotiations and arguments and secrets are compromising. The slower we move, the faster we die. Make no mistake, moving is living. Some animals were meant to carry each other to live, symbiotically over a lifetime, star-crossed lovers, monogamous swans –

We are not swans, we are sharks.

- "Up In The Air" Backpack speech given by George Clooney's character, Ryan Bingham.

I just recently saw this movie. At first, when it came out in theaters most of the people I knew, said it was a horrible movie and I'm going to waste my time seeing it. After so long since the release of it I finally decide to see it and see what the fuss is about. I mean the ratings speak for themselves:

Best site for movie reviews/ ratings. I check every movie there before seeing it - EVERY MOVIE.

Now, this movie was incredible. I have no words to describe how well put together it was. I love movies like these that have such a positive effect on me. I was moved by The Backpack Speech given in the movie. I just wanted to whip out a notebook and write all the witty lines the characters would say. Also, Jason Reitman was in it and Anna Kendrick. They are both awesome in my book. And actress Vera Farmiga played such a hot part in the movie.

This movie is a must see. I was disappointed at how long I let it go until I finally saw it.

Now for other movies I absolutely love and had a positive effect on me:

"500 Days Of Summer" - This movie. The editing was just beyond outstanding. The actors were so fit for their parts. And actress Zooey Deschannel put on the best performance for her character. I almost hated her for her mean performance which fit the movie. I can watch this movie over and over and over again.

This movie here is just no way to describe it than out of control. The storyline is just so unique and so fresh it grabbed me right away. At first I was worried that it's going to be a confusing movie since there was a lot of back and forth going on. - (you'll understand when you watch it.) But definitely recommend this one. Especially for those of you who are into psychology and how the mind works.

Okay, first off, I am a HUGE Leonardo DiCaprio fan - HUGE! I loved everything he did from sitcoms when I was younger to some of his first movies like "What's eating Gilbert Grape"  and "Basketball Diaries". -( "Basketball Diaries" will get it's own special picture next up on the list). So this movie, "The Departed" just has it all. Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and a crazy twisted story all into one movie? YES PLEASE!

For this one, let's just forget about Rottentomatoes.com's rating because that doesn't matter here. I saw this movie on a hot summer drunken night coming home from hanging out and it was playing on TBS. I had nothing to watch, saw that my future husband, Leo is the main character and my fingers stopped flipping the channel. I was sucked in! Immediately sucked in! The movie recieved that bad rating on Rottentomatoes.com because it's mainly about drugs and how badly it can affect you. Okay that was a horrible way to describe it but honestly this movie was so good that I went to Blockbuster the NEXT day and rented it. Now, keep in mind I never go to Blockbuster. So I rented it and watched it about 3 times in a row. Leonardo acts his character with sooo much passion and so much emotion. It amazes me how well he portrays who he is supposed to portray. He portrays a young boy who's on the schools basketball team. In order for him to play better and just act crazy on the court he starts taking drugs. He moves on to bigger and worse drugs and ends up doing some bad things to get these drugs. This movie is SO good! PHEW! Now that I'm done ranting about Leo. Moving on.

Now we can look at the Rottentomatoes.com ratings again. This cartoon, yes cartoon, is so inspiring. I know it's a kids movie but I did not expect it to be this good. Luckily I have a very adventurous boyfriend who always wants to experience something new. So we went one boring night to see this movie and I really recommend it!

This movie here I had to watch for a psychology class. I ended up falling in love with Jack Nicholson as an actor because of this movie. I watched it again about 5 more times in my lifetime and each time I feel like it gets better and better. Jack Nicholson plays a man who did a bad crime and ends up pleading insanity and gets thrown into a mental ward where he has to prove he really is insane, which he isn't. So it becomes a great storyline as everything unfolds.

Okay, I know I have lot's more favorites but I can't seem to think of anymore. Check these movies out and let me know what you all think. Any further questions about the movies let me know. :D

Jerry Springer!

Yesterday I went to visit Jerry Springer. I went to be a member of the audience on his show. It was so much fun. Such an experience. My adventurous boyfriend, Edie, signed up for these tickets months ago. They called us a few weeks ago letting us know we got 6 tickets to go on 11/15/2010 at 10:30 am to be in Connecticut. We took the offer being that I have off Mondays. We totally forgot about this until Sunday night when someone from the Jerry Springer show called to confirm that we will be there Monday morning. Of course we confirmed and set out a plan to get out there to Connecticut. We decided on taking public transportation instead of driving out there since the public transportation was so easy to use and we didn't have to worry about gas, parking, tolls, etc.

So the trip went like this. We woke up really early. We took the MTA to Grand Central and then took the Metro North to Stamford, CT. Once in CT we walked maybe 3-4 blocks to the Jerry Springer Studio. Which, I had no idea of but Maury and Steve Wilkos is also filmed there. Anyway. We got there maybe 10 mins late due to being New Yorkers and never on time. We got in and waited in the waiting area for some time. Then we got into the actual studio and they started the show maybe around 12 pm. The way it was explained to us was that they shoot 5 shows between Monday and Tuesday and the rest of the week Jerry is in California doing some other show. He said it was a game show but I haven't seen it or heard of it or even remember the name he said.

Once Jerry Springer came out of course everyone went wild. Todd, the sound guy sat behind a camera and we were prompted when to clap, "ooh", "ahh", "boo", etc. It was pretty well organized.

Jerry had a hilarious monologue. He also answered lots of questions for the audience members. Someone even asked what the show will be about since we weren't told beforehand. Jerry's reply was that he has no clue and he never knows because the point of the show is for him to just get the names of his guests and he unfolds their story and makes jokes along the way. He said if he knew what the show was about he'd never want to come in and do it.

I used to watch Jerry Springer when I was younger along with Ricki Lake and Jenny Jones. LOL! I used to love those shows I don't even remember how old I was but it was during the time those shows aired. I haven't watched Jerry for a LONG time. However after learning how easy it is to get tickets and how easy it was to get there I will probably be doing it again - a FEW times more.

I promise you will have FUN. Whether you hate or love Jerry Springer. Unless you're not okay with nudity and fighting then don't go. They warn you before anything that if you aren't okay with nudity or fighting then go home. Oh and of course my phone was taking pictures all along the ride. Here are all the pics I took:
